St Peter & St James Hospice held their annual Open Gardens event, which raised £1900 for the hospice just from visitors, with an additional £570 in sales of plants, largely donated by South Downs Nurseries in Hassocks (pictured). The 15,000 leaflets printed for the event were also sponsored by the garden centre. “We had a very good turn-out with over 190 coming and the event took £200 more than last year” said Community Fundraiser, Carol Hughes. “The plant sales were also up on last year and I am sure that is down to the wonderful donated plants.”

Whilst dropping off the plants, Retail Manager Larisa Richardson also surprised the hospice with a cheque for £500 raised from raffle ticket sales at a recent Star Wars event.
