Staff from Tates of Sussex Garden Centres have completed a sponsored walk across the South Downs National Park to raise money for a local charity.
Staff from South Downs Nurseries in Hassocks, Mayberry Garden Centre in Portslade and Paradise Park Garden Centre in Newhaven, walked a tremendous 49km in aid of The Budding Foundation, a charity for young people. The Budding Foundation supports young people in Sussex with the emphasis on helping those who have lacked support or opportunity at some stage in their lives.
The walk, which featured all three of the Sussex based garden centres, began at Mayberry Garden Centre in Portslade at 8am and finished at Paradise Park Garden Centre in Newhaven at 7pm, via South Downs Nurseries in Hassocks.
At the end of the walk, Manager Steve Parsons, one of the walkers, said ‘We’re really proud of everyone who took part – I really enjoyed the day. It was exhausting, but worth it knowing every step taken has supported this fantastic charity’s work.’
Thank you to all our customers who have kindly supported us by donating to this wonderful cause.
