Hydrocleca is produced by firing tiny clay granules at 1200°C, resulting in lightweight, hard, ceramic pebbles that have a smooth outer layer with a honeycomb centre. These small, lightweight and porous pebbles absorb water and then release it slowly into the soil or compost, keeping plants hydrated. The cellular structure also has superb insulating properties which help to safeguard plants from extreme variances in temperature.
Perfect for use as a decorative mulch around plants in pots, tubs and containers both indoors and outside, can be used for 'crocking' - the drainage layer in pots and as a drainage layer under pots. Can also be used to improve soil structure, drainage and aeration in pots and containers, raised beds and gardens.
