Sweet Pepper 'Thor' Premium Pot Veg 8.5cm
3 FOR £5
This variety of sweet pepper produces elongated fruits that can grow up to 25cm long. The fruits start off green and gradually turn into a shiny red colour as they ripen. This high-yielding variety is best grown in a greenhouse and has a sweet taste and crispy texture. You can harvest the peppers from July to October.
Peppers are versatile plants that can be grown in various settings, either undercover in a greenhouse or polytunnel, or outdoors in a sheltered spot with full sun exposure. It is recommended to transplant well-grown plants into grow bags, containers or beds with fertile and well-drained soil.
When growing sweet peppers outdoors, it is important to gradually acclimatize them to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days before transplanting to prevent transplant shock. To allow enough space for the plants to grow, peppers should be spaced 50cm apart.
Regular watering is essential for sweet pepper plants, particularly during the growing season. Once the first fruits have set, it is recommended to feed the plants weekly with a high-potash tomato feed to ensure optimal growth and fruit development. With proper care and attention, peppers can provide a bountiful harvest of delicious and nutritious fruits.
