Sweet Pepper 'Snack' Premium Pot Veg 8.5cm
3 FOR £5
These snack peppers are a great addition to any lunch box! The small fruits are produced abundantly on tidy, well-branched plants that are perfect for growing in containers. They are especially suited for small spaces, such as balconies and sunny patios. The sweet peppers have thick walls and a crisp, sweet taste. The seeds are located in clusters at the stem end, allowing the rest of the fruit to be eaten whole.
These little peppers are perfect for raw snacking, as well as adding to picnics and lunch boxes for kids. The plants grow up to 90cm in height and spread out to about 45cm, making them a compact plant that can fit easily into any garden or balcony.
Peppers are versatile plants that can be grown in various settings, either undercover in a greenhouse or polytunnel, or outdoors in a sheltered spot with full sun exposure. It is recommended to transplant well-grown plants into grow bags, containers or beds with fertile and well-drained soil.
When growing sweet peppers outdoors, it is important to gradually acclimatize them to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days before transplanting to prevent transplant shock. To allow enough space for the plants to grow, peppers should be spaced 50cm apart.
Regular watering is essential for sweet pepper plants, particularly during the growing season. Once the first fruits have set, it is recommended to feed the plants weekly with a high-potash tomato feed to ensure optimal growth and fruit development. With proper care and attention, peppers can provide a bountiful harvest of delicious and nutritious fruits.
