The plant is compact and bushy, reaching a height of around 30-45cm, making it suitable for container growing as well as garden beds. The fruits have a Scoville heat rating of around 80,000, which puts them in the medium to hot range. They are commonly used in Mexican and Southwestern cuisine to add heat and flavour to dishes such as salsas, sauces, and stews.
