Pieris 'Katsura' 3 Litres
Pieris japonica 'Katsura' is a slow-growing evergreen shrub with a compact, rounded habit. It typically reaches a mature height of 1 to 1.5 metres and a spread of 1 to 1.5 metres. The foliage emerges bright red in spring, before gradually turning dark green as it matures. In autumn, the foliage takes on a reddish-bronze tint. The fragrant flowers appear in early spring and are a creamy-white colour.
Pieris 'Katsura' prefers acidic, well-drained soil and partial shade to full sun, though it is best protected from the hot afternoon sun. Pruning should be done after flowering, as the shrub sets its buds for the following year during the summer months. It is an excellent choice for borders, containers, and woodland gardens.
