This well known herbaceous peony is a classic romantic cottage garden plant. With rose-pink double flowers up to 20cm across and ruffled inner petals, it makes a beautiful statement in the early summer garden.
Peonies are easy to care for hardy herbaceous perennials. Plant them shallowly for the best flowering and in a sheltered place. Mulch them well every spring and cut to the ground in late autumn-winter. Some varieties benefit from support to hold up the large flowers.
