Black sunflower seeds are thin-skinned with plump oil rich hearts, they also contain protein and other vitamins and minerals to provide wild birds with the fats and energy they need throughout the year, especially during the winter months. The thinner husk makes it easier for the birds to remove them.

Black sunflower seeds have a higher fat content compared to striped. They are an excellent feed for a range of garden birds, notably greenfinches, great tits and coal tits. However, these seeds aren't suitable for softbill species such as Blackbird, who cannot remove the husk.

A popular and versatile seed, perfect as straight feed or as part of a mix.
