Cornus sanguinea Midwinter Fire forms a goblet of yellow stems which turn to orange and then red at the tips like a bonfire; looks stunning en masse. Insignificant summer flowers loved by butterflies are follwed by white berries loved by birds along with yellow-orange-red autumn leaf colour. Once established cut back the oldest one third of stems hard in late winter every year. looks particulalry good with spring bulbs planted underneath.
