Amelanchier lamarckii is a small tree or large shrub with a bushy, spreading habit. Leaves are oval shaped, coppery red and silky when young. Profusion of small white flowers in spring scatter along the branches as the young leaves unfold; followed by black fruits and beautiful orange-red autumn colours. Similar if indestinguishable from Amelanchier Canadensis.

Aucuba are hardy evergreen shrubs with leathery leaves and small purple flowers which are followed on female plants by glossy red fruits. Crotonifolia has large green leaves heavily spotted with deep yellow. It is a versatile shrub for almost any where in the garden particularly shade where it shines out.
Bergenia 'Eroica', also known as elephant's ears, is a hardy perennial that forms large clumps of glossy, evergreen leaves. The leaves are often tinted red or bronze in the winter. In early spring, it produces tall spikes of pink or purple flowers that rise above the foliage, making it an attractive addition to any garden.
