A superior form of Cercis siliquastrum, 'Bodnant' is a bushy, deciduous small tree with particularly dark purple flowers all along its bare twigs in mid spring. The unusual heart shaped leaves are bronze when young, turning fresh green, finally to butter yellow in autumn. It's quite slow growing but will eventually grow to a good size.
