[divider][title title=”WEEE Regulations”]

According to the WEEE legislation, it is not acceptable to dispose of old electronic items with regular waste, and they should instead be taken to a central collection point for recycling. As part of our commitment to promoting environmentally responsible behavior, we are pleased to offer our customers a Free Take-Back service for electrical waste products at our Garden Centres. We will hold on to your items until they can be collected by a reputable waste disposal company.

To ensure that consumers are reminded to dispose of electrical products properly, a crossed-out wheelie bin symbol should be displayed on all electrical products. This symbol serves as a reminder that these items should not be discarded with regular household waste. Unfortunately, over 75% of waste electrical goods end up in landfill sites, causing soil and water contamination that can negatively impact human health and the environment due to the lead and other toxins present in these products.

If you have electrical waste that needs recycling, you can bring it to our store, including small WEEE items measuring less than 25cm on their longest side. You may return these items for recycling on a like-for-like basis, and this offer is valid within 28 days of purchasing a new item from us, regardless of whether you bought it online or in-store. Alternatively, you can visit https://www.recycle-more.co.uk/home for information about recycling centers.
