RHODODENDRON SIMSII (INDOOR AZALEA)

The indoor Azalea comes from China. It will remain evergreen, and reward you with years of flowering if you look after it.

INDOOR AZALEA CARE

Azaleas like bright indirect light. An east or north facing window is ideal. Do not put near a radiator or other heat source. Azaleas need to be kept cool 10-16˚C. As with the Cyclamen it is best off in an unheated room. It can be kept in the garden in the summer. Azaleas need to be kept wet at all times, but not waterlogged. If possible use rainwater or distilled water (or boiled and cooled tap water). It is also less of a shock to the plant if the water is at room temperature. They appreciate high humidity and should be misted daily or kept on a pebble tray. Feed regularly from March to August.

AFTER FLOWERING

Dead head regularly to keep them flowering as long as possible. Once flowering has stopped, keep the plant in a cool, bright room until the danger of frost is passed then move to a shady spot in the garden. Bring the plant indoors once the temperature begins to drop in the autumn.
