ABOUT THE SUSSEX BONSAI GROUP:
The Sussex Bonsai Group was founded in August 1979 by a small group of enthusiasts who were interested in the art and culture of Bonsai. Two of those being Ken and Ann Norman, currently President and Vice President, who have been active members from its inception, with Ken the author of “The Complete Practical Encyclopedia of Bonsai”.
The aim of the Group is to promote the awareness, understanding and skills required in the cultivation of Bonsai. The Group is a non-profit making organisation with all expenses found from within the membership. The Group meets on the 4th Wednesday of each month at the Wivelsfield Village Hall, West Sussex.
The Group is one of the founder members of the “Federation of British Bonsai Societies” (FoBBs) the body that promotes the art of Bonsai nationally, founded in 1982. In 1989 the Group, on behalf of FoBBs, organised a highly successful 2 day National Convention and Exhibition at the University of Sussex and over the last twenty years or so, have organised both local and national Bonsai Exhibitions within Sussex.
