Description:

We are seeking a Maintenance Person to cover general repairs and refurbishments.
The successful candidate will require:

Previous of experience in similar role

Building maintenance skills – painting, decorating, joinery and plumbing

The ability to work to deadlines in a safe and efficient manner.

The ability to work well as part of a team or alone the maintain the upkeep of our garden centres and holiday lodges.

You will be reporting to the buildings and maintenance area manager who will provide support where required.

Description:

We are looking for a warehouse assistant to join our team working 5 days a week from Tuesday to Saturday.
Warehouse responsibilities:

• The safe and secure operation of the goods in yard and on-site storage of goods.

Description:

You are responsible for the supervision and organisation of the goods out and deputising for the warehouse manager in their absence. This is a hands on role working alongside and supervising colleagues.
General Responsibilities
Goods out

Management of all goods out and distribution processes including:

• The picking, packing, loading, quality checks and distribution of inter branch transfers and customer deliveries, including driving delivery van as required.

• Delivery schedules, drivers and distribution.

• Loading delivery vehicles to ensure for timely/speedy despatch. Monitoring vehicle tracking and driving hours to ensure minimum down time is achieved.

Prerequisites 

You will be a team player, with knowledge of supervising and motivating people, and an in-depth working knowledge of warehouse functions. Previous experience working in a warehouse is essential for this role.

You must be computer literate and numerate, with a good attention to detail. Full training will be provided on our IT and stock systems.

Duration

Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours a week.

We are looking for someone to join our head office buying team, based at South Downs Nurseries in Hassocks.
In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance of the Company product database, production of reports and returns, order analysis and production.
General Responsibilities
• Sales and product data analysis to highlight slow moving and excess stocks.

• Investigating and correcting anomalies in stock setup and ordering.

• Production & analysis of stock and sales reports.

• Assisting with ranging and the production of orders.

• Assisting Group buyers as required.

We are looking for someone to join our team, working in our busy outdoor sundries department. This department includes composts, garden pots, paving & landscaping supplies as well as small storage sheds and garden features such as statues, arches and arbours.
You will be responsible for:

– Ensuring stock is out on display, merchandised to a high standard with the correct point of sale materials.

– The safe storage of any overstock.

– Maintaining a high level of customer service through friendly ‘meet and greet’, good knowledge of your stock and dealing with customers in a courteous, efficient and cheerful manner.

– Dealing with customer enquiries to achieve customer satisfaction at all times. immediately referring any unresolved issues to your line manager.

Description:

We are looking for a Department Manager for our small but busy nursery based at South Downs Nurseries in Hassocks.

You will be required to:

  • Coordinate the production plan of plants grown on the nursery.
  • Manage a small team, while minimising production and labour costs and maintaining high quality standards.
  • Oversee the day to day nursery operations. Organisation of workload. Potting and general plant care. Stock control.
  • Crop protection. Monitoring pest control. Maintenance of nursery facilities and equipment.
