Walkers completed a sponsored 20km walk from The Shoreham Centre to the South Downs Heritage Centre in Hassocks over the bank holiday weekend, raising more than £1,000 for The Budding Foundation, a charity that supports young people in Sussex. The Budding Foundation, who set up the Museum of Gardening at the Heritage Centre, made the walk even more of a challenge by asking walkers to take turns pushing a vintage lawnmower along the route.

Recent grants made by The Budding Foundation include £1,250 for new equipment at Hassocks Youth Club and £1,300 to provide a specialist wheelchair for a ten-year-old boy from Burgess Hill with Cerebral Palsy. For more information, visit www.thebuddingfoundation.co.uk.
