South Downs Nurseries donated some of the panes of glass that formed part of the old Heritage Centre building to community project ‘yourspacesutton’, enabling the transformation of their community space from derelict tunnels to an indoor garden and peacful sitting area.
Yourspacesutton is a tiny unfunded operation providing mostly work based learning opportunities in a non commercial community plant nursery where everything they grow is used to plant 16 community garden plots. They have around 30 local volunteers of differing backgrounds and abilities who all believe in providing an inclusive horticultural community project and therapeutic activities to those who might otherwise for whatever circumstances, find themselves isolated or struggling to integrate with the wider community.
