Shoppers at The Sussex Food Hall in The South Downs Heritage Centre in Hassocks have raised £1000 for a local charity! The Budding Foundation, a charity that supports young people in need has benefitted from the fund raised from the proceeds of the 5p carrier bag charge. The total figure raised for the charity by customers and staff since The Heritage Centre opened last year now exceeds £5,000.
Recent grants made by The Budding Foundation include £1,250 for new equipment at Hassocks Youth Club and £1,300 to provide a specialist wheelchair for a ten-year-old boy from Burgess Hill with Cerebral Palsy. For more information, visit www.thebuddingfoundation.co.uk.
